 With more than three decades of accomplishments as a leader in the California Legislature and as California Attorney General, I want to put my experience and energy to work for our future as California’s next State Treasurer.
Our elected leaders need to work together to help return our state to fiscal health. Our next State Treasurer will play a key role in working with California leaders from both parties, local governments, business, labor and investors throughout the nation to achieve this goal.
No one person can overcome the challenges we face - that will require the efforts of many Californians - but the State Treasurer’s office is uniquely situated to help. I want to start by helping to restore public confidence at every level of California government, and I think that begins with proving to taxpayers that they are getting a good return on every tax dollar. Tackling these challenges will not be easy, but together, with proven leadership and prudent investments, we will restore California’s financial credibility, reinvigorate our economy, and keep California producing good jobs.
