SACRAMENTO – State Treasurer Bill Lockyer today issued the following statement on his reelection to the post:

“I’m honored Californians decided to entrust me with this job, and taxpayers’ money, for another four years.  I will do my best to live up to that trust.  The last four years have been tough on our state and our families, to put it mildly.  We’ve been hit by a steady downpour of economic strife and fiscal failure.  As we look to rebuild, we face considerable challenges.  But I’m going to work as hard as my fellow Californians to get us on the road to recovery.

“We can restore prosperity to our families, and greatness to our state.  But we won’t succeed unless Republicans and Democrats in Sacramento climb out of their partisan bunkers, elevate cooperation and problem solving over dogma and special interests, and give the people straight talk instead of bull.”
